In today’s digital era, YouTube has become a dynamic educational platform, changing how students access and engage with academic content. There are millions of educational videos on different subjects that learners use. They benefit from high-quality tutorials, expert lectures, and in-depth explanations from educators worldwide.

Recognizing the immense educational potential of YouTube and the distractions that often accompany it, three second-year Computer Science Engineering students from KLH Aziz Nagar have started with an innovative project to make digital learning more focused. Pravallika Munnuru, Sri Harshitha, and Bhavisya are currently developing FOCARA, a tool aimed at boosting academic engagement on YouTube while minimizing distractions.

FOCARA operates on a simple yet powerful principle: enabling students to watch only the educational content they choose, without the interference of ads, recommendations, or unrelated videos. By pasting a YouTube video link into FOCARA, the video plays in full-screen mode and restricts users from exiting, thereby preventing multitasking or content switching. The team is also working on integrating features such as study time tracking and digital note-taking, helping users monitor their learning progress and maintain an organized study routine.

This initiative reflects the innovative spirit and academic excellence fostered at KLH, one of the top universities in South India, where students are encouraged to combine technology with real-world problem-solving.
